Good to show up here when things are post election celebrations and mourning.
I will limit myself to "makandala"(kamba intonations needed for clear understanding). Sonko won yes, but not because he better than the rest of the pack or more monied, nay. We all know why..
Sonko won the elections, just like kibaki did in 2002, not because he was the best in the pack, but because the alternatives were unthinkable. Because the parties and powers that be, like ODM and PNU are soooo big that they assume that they can dictate to us who to elect. It is like a stranger coming to your house to advice you on which of your children is good.
I don't know Sonko but, had I been a voter in makandala, I would not elect Ndolo or Wathika. Had I been ODM, I would not hand pick a sycophant to represent the party, but one member who believes in the party enough but is also in the hearts of the people. This would come from clear nomination procedures from the "roots".
Problem with politicians is.. they never learn that easily, if they get away with murder today, they will murder again and again, until they are made to learn the hard way.
ODM and PNU got away with hand-picked candidates in 2007 and their sycophants were elected to parliament. They think this is gonna be the case all the time.
Wake Up ODM and tinga, we are awake and will not take crap, not from you not from anyone. Congratulations makadara people, conglatulations Njunja people, cogradurachons Starehe people- mama alipita katikati ya kalonzo na uhuru, na hawakumuona, au ni "mungiki" alipita katikati yao?
