Re: Lessons for ODM from the By Elections

Theus,
You seem to be having a very serious problem anytime an issue touching on ODM is brought up! To you when one raises an issue contrary to your thinking then they must have changed their names or they are simply ignorant. On the contrary i think its people like you who are leading the ostrich life of putting their head in the sand and living in self denial even when the obvious is staring right on your face.

What has been raised here is that ODM despite claimimg to be the most democratic party never bothered to go back to the people and seek their opinion on their preffered candidate! Thats the bottom of it all and that explains why ODM faired badly in area where they should have clinched!

Secondly you have raised the issue of voter buying by Sonko. My question to you is which politician never bribed? The truth is all of them including Ndolo used money to induce the electorate. The only difference lied in their individual ability; while Sonko may have been more endowed the likes of Ndolo only wished they could have had the same resources.

So my friend when ODM has erred please accept! Democracy is not what RAO stand for but what people consider as fair in electing their leaders!

Livingston (I am 100% SURE that its not your name)

You should know one thing about politics. Neither Mbuvi nor Kabogo won fairly. Sonko was literally bribing people. He used to walk with notes of bunches of Ksh 10,000 and give out to people who own business establishments like garages, welding and carpentry places.

He also organised feasting and beer drinking parties for the young in Buru Buru. Ask anyone who went to Casurina for the last 2 weeks if they ever paid for their drinks?

Sonko stays next to the roundabout behind the PAG church. That guy used money and bribed vibaya. Infact you cant talk about winning because of his development record. Tell me what Sonko has done in Buru apart from overcharging us in his mats. Even beer is so expensive in casurina you should not talk about it.

Stop pretending and using fake names to attack people just because you hate Raila. Grow up and tell us what development a leader brought or will bring. Sonko is my neighbour and is already preparing to leave Buru Buru for Karen.

ODM needed to learn that politics of euphoria and charisma are long gone.
We need men and women who can deliver, not people who are able to move masses by incitement!
Their analysis of Ndolo was fault and they needed to have re-freshed the leader of that constituency with an ideal person with tangible issues, not fanantical accusations and slogans..It was a learning slap, hope they gain insight!

ODM refused to conduct party nominations in Makadara and the person that was locked out and defected to Narc Kenya clinched the seat. I remember Mbuvi seeking audience with the PM over the issue of grassroot nominations but Ndolo ensured that he was tear gassed and and denied access to the premier. If RAO wants to have a formidable strong party built on democratic foundations he needs to listen to people on the ground (voters). This thing of direct nominations is dictatorial and denies voters a chance to elect their leaders of choice within a strong party.
