Re: My back and old Matress.........that is the prescription

Achieng,
Do we contact you for double therapy (these mineral Supplements and 'Physical supplement), or you want us to contact you only for the mineral supplements. Let us quickly and with the seriousness it deserves, take a critical look at this back pain problem. When we leave the other angle many of us men have been fronting here of finding a solution to the same, we can go down and seriously dissect the causes of back pain.

There could be many, but I want to try to confine myself to the simple one and which can cause lots of agony to an individual sufferer. Many other causes may be attributed to situations like:
1. Some hidden dis-ease or sublaxation,
2. Using a "jua Kali" Mattress,
3. Constantly lifting heavy objects eg at work especially for those working in the Engineering field,
4. Constantly lifting imbalanced heavy objects on one shoulder eg like Books and a laptop in a bag, hang on one shoulder.
5. Working long periods in a bending or standing position.
6. Regularly having to walk long distances.
7. Walking in tight uncomfortable shoes like ill fitting Cow Boy Boots or any other type of ill fitting shoe worn out shoe.
8. regularly wearing those six inch stilettos that make ladies walk like Ngong Racecourse Horses.
9. Sitting Long nights nursing or breast-feeding a sick or normal baby.
10. Old age.
11. Immobilization for long periods of time due to illness; .
12. Sitting for long periods of time without changing position, eg. a hard working man/woman in an office chair for 8 hours and many others may cause Back pain.

Out of these myriad possibilities, I will discuss the one problem prevalent amongst normal active men who are not necessarily exposed to some of those conditions I have mentioned above. This is the weakness of the area around the abdomen. The primary cause of Back pain is weak abbs (abdominal muscles) and weak lower back muscles; particularly those muscles that support the lumber vertebrae, ie Lumbar 3 to 5 and the sucral (tailbone). The sacral is primarily supported by the Glutial (Buttock) muscles.

Now, if any of these muscles are weak then the motor forces in the body tend to be transmitted directly to the Spine at the area just below the rib-cage. And since the muscles to support it are weak already, it can lead to a vertebrae moving out of place or the spine taking an abnormal curvature. This may lead to great sublaxation on the entire spine (backbone) thereby resulting in lots of pain in the back. The spine if you may be aware, is the information superhighway where the brain sends messages to the rest of the Body and the body organs. Therefore when one vertebrae is out of alignment even by a small degree, a signal will be sent to the brain that all is not well.

The brain therefore will dispatch  Corrective messages to be delivered at that spot. As a result there will be an increased blood flow particularly the white Blood corpuscles to go and "Kill the invader and subsequently rebuild it. But because this id not a foreign object but a misalignment of a vertebrae it will not be corrected by the orders from the brain. It may need an intervention to correct the situation.

The body therefore will continue to send pain messages to the brain that  correction measures must be taken at once to fix this problem. Pain therefore  is the body's reaction to say that an issue is at hand in a particular area and it needs to be corrected ASAP.

Mburi, your pain therefore may need an "intervention"(not from the blue yonder), especially if you have exhausted the "Ogombo Avenue". Please take a look at the information below it maybe of some value in future

Solution:
Seek the attention of a Chiropractor to realign the spine, then work on strengthening all the muscles around the abdomen. At this point the pain should dissappear into oblivion.
For Chiropractic assistance please contact Dr Musyimbi M. Ondeko at her Practice in Hurlingam not very far from Yaya Center. For further details send me a personal e-mail.

I thought the patient eats fish day in day out and so this Omega 3 fish oil is for those of us forbidden from eating fish by culture. I take this fish oil everyday because I know it is good for my health but occassionally I eat fish, only tilapia and salmon since I cant stand other sea foods especially lobsters and other ugly fish.
