Re: Do healing through prayer work?

There is healing through Prayer.
God's love is so unconditional and healing through prayer does happen.
God  uses people living a holy life  just by a  word of prayer or laying hands on a sick person and the person is healedGod can as well heal you anywhere  and any time. (Here be careful, do not allow people you do not know very well  to lay hands on you)

We need to understand that when God heals a sick person, then deliverance takes place.
What is deliverance? It is loosening the soul or spirit from the binding which is the work of the devil (satan)

My cousin had a road accident in 26th Oct 2008, he has been on medication in and out of the country, and he lost all memory for 2 years. Yesterday 30th July he has been accepted to his position as an engineer in a big parastatal. John K,

Even during the time of Jesus, not all were healed. There were many sick people in Israel. But that does not mean that others were not healed. You prayed for 10+ years for healing without success. i prayed and my weak sight was restored. In 2000AD. Today is 2010. My sight is still okay. Just as it had become when God healed me.

True God makes the lame and the blind. It is also true that He makes the the ones that can see and walk. If HE can create you, He can also heal you. He can also decide not to. He is Almighty, remember.

Pray again. Admit that you are powerless. Admit that He is ALL POWERFULL. Accept His LOVE. Believe. Trust in Him. Do not set Him timelines. He will touch you and nothing will ever be the same again.

Just go back to Him. He is waiting.

All the best.
Remember Abraham waited for a lifetime. He despaired-just like you. He tried to look for his own answers and got Ishmael. Then God gave him what he had promised all along. After a lifetime!

I am not saying that you will wait forever. All i am saying is that you need to Trust him. I did. Now i can read all the novels i could not read then!

John et al,

There are several scriptures in the bible that talk about healing for the sick, and even today many are being healed daily by our Lord Jesus Christ, for by His stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Pet.2:24,25).

The Bible also says clearly in James.5:15, 'And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.'

For some it may be instantaneous healing, for others, it takes time. You need to have faith in God. God healed me of Ulcers, i prayed and He did it. I know of a child who had a hole in her heart and God healed her, sealed that hole. There are many many more, God has healed, in churches, crusades, in their houses while alone, or people whom God has prayed for over the internet, radio, TV, name it. His healing power is very much evident in our days. God is all Powerful and there is nothing that is impossible in Him, only trust Him, that He is able to do it.

No, prayer does not heal. Kenyatta Hospital would not be short of bed space, bearing in mind that Nairobi alone has hundreds, if not thousands of powerful, power-packed bishops, not to mention hundreds of thousands of believers.

For 10+ years(that's when I used to believe in god) I pleaded with God to heal my teeth, and for 10+ years he ignored me completely, as if i did not pray - makes me wonder about that verse in the bible where Jesus asks ( I paraphrase) -  "how many of you, if your son asks for bread you will give him stone?". I have lost many teeth at a tender age. This is what I believe:prayer brings a very short lived 'feel good' feeling and an emotional relaxation.

All ye that believe in prayer healing, did you read that article in the DN couple of months ago about the congregants that pleaded with God to resurrect their pastor? Did you even imagine that god could do that?   You try pray for healing (for yourself or others) and let the group know the results

God makes the lame and the blind - he makes them! thats what the bible says. He even makes the horses blind, according to the scriptures! Man! thats mean.

yes, healing through prayer is true. i think there's a combination of factors, apart from just believing, e.g. for Lazarus to be raised, (Christian Teachings) he was dead, so he could not believe, and his quoted sister was doubtful. And Jesus prayed for that miracle for the sake of the curious on lookers who had gathered; in another instance, Jesus performs a miraculous healing, and sends of the recipient with the words "....your faith has made you well..." and the disciples of Jesus could not cast out a demon from a boy; Jesus explained to them that "....that kind goes way only by prayer and fasting..."  the early apostles have also documented the practice of use of anointing oil and laying on of hands by Spiritual Leaders to sick people.
MIRACULOUS HEALING IS TRUE,  It's primary function is to give glory to God (to bring out a very positive evidence of God's existence, and His great concern for people).

Healing comes to us as a divine provision from God.The bible says that God sent
His word and healed our diseases. When we ask God to heal our bodies He does.
Blind Baltimeus asked Jesus for healing, the apostles healed the sick.
How does healing come to us.Its through faith. You have to believe that God is
able and willing to heal you. When we ask God to heal us we are not asking for
special favors.God is a healer and healing is part of His nature.I am the Lord
that healeth thee.

Anyway back to the Draft, most of it is OK because it is regurgitated from the current law but the stuff they tried to improve, they simply mutilated and left more confusion than clarity, I just don't see why we should accept an admittedly flawed document pending changes down the road (kicking the can) when we might as well  work with and improve on the one we are trying to replace instead, it is a ZERO SUM GAIN to me and I am not with it AT ALL! That is my take but also that the president and PM Odinga have rendered this thing subject to be nullified through the court, desperation leads to anger and bad judgment, just look around you my friend...

Papa Ochwangi,

I like you around and don't get so lost bwana, hii KATIBA inapita, the government is just facilitating it because it is part of Agenda 4 which is recognized under the national accord.

These are not political party politics thus the use of anything/everyone that facilitates that process is just fine, hakuna shida hapo.

Remember, we are making a KATIBA for Kenya so how do you expect the government to stand aside and watch and not provide us with the logistics?

And who is the government? Rafiki Ochwangi, after 4th baada ya kupitisha hii, we will then go ahead with development proper, have you been home lately and seen how the infrastructure is coming up? You would be amazed, next time you are down there, go see what they are doing with Thika Road and Mombasa Roads, you will promptly ditch Moi and Ruto for having swindled you for ages and busy using ill gotten wealth to continue defeating reforms and development.

Karibu sana Brother Ochwangi.

Wacha zako wewe Sungu, Haiya! I have been around man and vigorously on the "NO" side, I guess I am guilty for not conforming with the "Mood" as you guys put it, you are the same bunch who voted "NO" in 2005 against the same document because your "mood" and more importantly that of the chief architect was "NO" and now 5 years later the "mood" is yes, I mean I have seen pendulums swing slower than this, what do you all stand for Sungu? MOODS?
This thing is wrong in more ways than I care to count least of which is the desperation of this government to win so much so that they are openly breaking the law by coopting the entire civil service to campaign for this document, this alone by the principles is enough to void any win by the YES group, so much for "reforms" and "impunity" Sungu! Do you honestly believe that reforms are brought about as a result of law breaking my friend? That is what Kibaki and Odinga are busy doing, you justify that and get back to me...

All I know is that innocent Kenyans were killed needlessly because ODM and its leadership attempted to own the entire process starting with direct nominations to office of family, cronies and friends instead of democratic primaries, rigging their own into power at every chance they got and if that didn't work they killed for the highest price attainable, ALL FACTS! If the recent recount of Bishop Wanjiru's votes are any indication, it is clear her victory for ODM was bogus- thank GOD PUN didn't call for mass action and chose to follow the law, ODM has lost virtually every seat that the courts nullified ever since and they will keep losing and soon enough ICC will pacify the greatest con and atrocities ever perpetrated on Kenyans, ngoja tu.

Machera and others
Lets not judge the book by the cover, rather use your critical thinking. Who is better? A person who uses other people negatively to gain his political interests or the person who uses his intelligence to do the same. The first time i read the story of Rev Dr Wanjiku in daily nation paper which was a testimony she was giving people about her life, i was touched. Her X hubby tried to destroy her life by interfering with her education twice before she completed her forth form. She managed to complete her education and at the same time being a mother. Congratulation Dr Wanjiru for not having thought of killing the very handsome sons by abortion. SHE IS A TRUE NO TO ABORTION. Others have been pigaring mdomo with no experience. If anything this is the lady who should be a minister for gender and children affairs if there is any ministry like that. She has all the experiences. If i remember the story well as she narrated her story, she did marketing which i am not amused why her church and her businesses are doing so well. She has the brains about it. What else have we learned from this intelligent lady, UNITY. I am almost sure she managed to change the mind of one who used to be Mungiki LEADER into a good faithful which am sure changed the hearts of other mungikis who could now be destroying lives of people.
Well having said this, lets wait and see what Kamanda is going to do. Is he going to continue uniting people or destroying people's in reverse direction from his opponent. Guys Watch out. Actions speak louder than words

Have critical thinking time. I am not from Starehe constituency, neither am i a Kikuyu

Well Rose,

The inside story is usually known by a few away from the mass media. The media (may) projects someone in a different way, though the beholder especially politicians like it when it counts to him/her.

Its the turn of the Starehe people again.

Thank you for the information.

Evans
Dr.Margaret Wanjiru is a survivor if she looses the seat or not. The parents of Dr Waniru deserve a clap. This is a woman who has several goals in her life so that if the first one fails she turns to the second goal. She is a woman who will stand no nonsence. I wish all the women can be like her. I have been following the life history of Dr Wanjiru which is very encouraging to single parents. Kamanda used her former husband to terrorize her but she never gave up. At one time in 2003 she even made an attempt to reunite her children with their father. She drove them all the way to Gachie to see their father and grand parents but on the process as she was rebuilding the relationship, Maina Kamanda destroyed everything. People have been blaming her for what they saw the last moment but for those who know her life history will know she tried her best to keep that marriage only the husband to let her down. During elections i was not surprised by her behavior because people were really determined to destroy her life as a woman. As a woman i understand what she is going through. I hope Kamanda will do better than her hoping his parliamentary money will not go to destroy other people's families

Dr.(Bishop) Margret Wanjiru of Jesus is a life Ministries, who stood on an ODM Ticket and was appointed an assistant minister lost to a pettition by Maina Kamanda.

WHERE DOES THAT LEAVE Hon.Dr.Bishop Wanjiru!

Others who have lost before includes Hons.Onyancha of Bomachoge,Thuo of Juja, and Magara of south Mugirango.

Such are testimonies and indicators that the 2007 elections was highly flawed.

The judiciary needs applause for the speedy work, but needs o do more.

Re: Couple Prostitutes

Maurice,
You have exposed yourself in the forum, that you would not mind sleeping with "attractive" looking prostitutes.

You were speaking in Kikamba (HAAAI. Nikyau mwanoo. :).

Nobody said men like too big women nor did I see anyone say they need to be too thin.

Way back when I was in KU working on my undergrads, this lady who was an year behind came to visit. She arrived in a mini skirt (I had forgotten to ask her to dress as if she was going to receive holy communion in church). Two people were not impressed, my grandma and my mother. 3 people were impressed, my younger brother and my grandpa. Grandpa commented that she did good to show us "iria" (milk which was the village name for KCCs. He actually called it mwitha which is fresh milk but who cares whether it was maziwa mara or maziwa sawa). My younger brother, then about 12 seemed to have received an erection because he kept on falling her with both hands in his pocket. That was crude but wanted to hear maoni ya familia.

The beauty was thin and tall and the mini skirt covered nothing. She also had those tumbo cut t-shirt and so 80% of her tumbo was exposed and then through the see thro Tumbo cut, you could see the milk. A slight bend and the milk was out and then her below belt would be exposed and that seemed to get my brother worked up. My grandmother and mum gave me a lecture the following day after she left. She was too thin to give birth without complications (I should have supported her with a case of C-section). Grandma wanted to know what i was holding the previous night (I wanted to ask her who told her that I got the goodies but those days we never questioned elders).

Next woman to visit was 3 times my size and she kept on holding her breath after walking a few feet. I was again told off and reminded that we needed somebody who could jog with me because I love jogging and they wondered who would be carrying those maize bags from the floor of the valley (you know Murang'a's hills are no joke).

The answer lies there between. Not too big, not too thin.

Rosie,

Brewing Chang'aa is my specialty and anyone who wants to take up that profession is welcome to consult with me. Is it legal in Kenya though? 'Cause if it ain't then I won't be involved.
Making Chang'aa can be a profit making venture especially if done legally. We can sell Chang'aa all over the world. I am a Chemical Engineer and I understand the concerns of Methanol contamination of the Ethanol in Chang'aa. Anyone willing to put up capital to establish a legal Chang'aa plant will get my ears.

Thanks for your nice alternative therapy with vodka. How much does it cost? i imagine i will use several litters for soaking my leg and this is why i would like to know the price. What is the active ingredient here?. If it is alcohol, then i can simply go for spirit or i can make changaa because its  cheaper. Brewing 20 litters of Changaa would take me few hours and would be much cheaper than vodkar. What do you think guys. please dont tell me changaa is a sin. Brewing Changaa or vodika i am sure is the same because its all distillation  process. I have never dealt with VODKA BUT I HAVE DEALT WITH CHANGAA brewing. If you want changaa contact me on

Rose,

In all fairness, I did not say anything about the women's butts. I simply commented that the women shown on that clip were fairly ugly and I wondered what about the desperation inherent in men who pay them for sex I wouldn't even do it if they were paying me. I am sorry to sound like that but I am being true to myself.

Ghosh, I wouldn't even do a beautiful woman if I have no romantic feelings about her. My "friend" would simply overrule me and "refuse".

The husbands who are comfortable with their wives selling themselves are simply low-lives who I suspect are clinging to the wives for financial security.

I would take a digging job in the rural areas before I let my wife prostitute herself. Some things are just wrong.

Courage,
Maurice
