As much as you have a right of your opinion, I wish to inform you that many conmen have joined the church and are masquerading as priests, pastors, bishops name it for the sole purpose of making a kill as it has become the most lucrative business. For the purpose of ensuring that their sheep dips deeper in their pockets, they pretend to be having the powers to perform healing miracle,  multiplying money or solving other problems . Armed with this blatant lie they rove all over, in particular in major urban centres, purportedly holding crusades during which they capitalize on the helplessly sick and others with varying problems  raising funds from them in the name of the church which unfortunately ends up in their pockets. We have concrete examples where such money has been invested in buildings, matatu businesses, farming activities, buying very expensive vehicles, building posh houses etc that the returns are only known by purported church leaders themselves or close families members or in a nutshell become family businesses. It is most unfortunate that even our main stream Churches like catholic, AIC, Anglican church, CPK etc have been engulfed in this greed. While I fully appreciate the fact that the church leaders have a right to leave happily,  I opine that it is un-godly for them to be driven by avarice while their sheep who only sacrifice some of their basic needs to support what should be modest livelihood languish in poverty and sickness. In God's name this must be condemned. It is unfortunate that we are so indoctrinated by the same church leaders to the point that we can not question the wrongs they commit because we believe doing so would be questioning God.The fact that they are church leaders does not qualify them outright Angels. Hence we should stop behaving like a dog and a python whereby whenever the two meet the dog instead of saving it self by taking off it lies down in a manner that the python can swallow it with a lot of ease. Jesus himself condemned the church leaders for having turned the house of God into a market. We do not expect him to come back and condemn these evil. It is ourselves to take charge and point out where things are not rightly being conducted. Even the Bible itself we should question it for a better understanding. We should not just take the writings in it on face value since some message in it was to specific group(s) of people warning them on the bad things they were doing or encouraging them e.g. the Corinthians, Galatians etc. Such books only act as reference materials in our lives  because they can indicate to one when he is right or wrong or warn us. So what am I saying give out the tithe but to genuine church leaders and not hooligans who have simply invaded the church with the lust for money. The argument that it is God to judge to me does not hold water because God himself has given us brains and powers to think and eyes to see. We should not let ourselves become dummies in the shops.
Have abundant God's blessings.

Chrispine,

Unfortunately ur ignorance is very clear. Their is nothing wrong with
the church been prosperous. It's the faithfull who give voluntary n
obediantly. In turn God will bless them here and even more in heaven.
It also God who uplifts the likes of JD jakes, Mark Kariuki with
wealth. He can easy remove his blessings as well. U can't judge,
decide for urself or us whether its deserve or not. What God has
willed can't be undone by us mortals.
