Thanks for clarifying that frog thing. Murungi has always portrayed "a stone face" so this came out handy but one can tell that he cannot be anywhere near a music lesson. It is the Raila look alike who looked more musically speaking and he did a good one. A friend wrote privately to ask about the fellow who dresses and walks like Raila, hata kofia ya Raila to boot. I am sure Kibaki and Uhuru were amused by the frog song. Seems like frogs have a history or story in Meru tradition. The time I heard about them was on the sayings about them not being able to stop cows from drinking water with the croaky sound.
The Meru I fear are those from miraa area. If they make a threat on me, I take it serious and offer my apology on the spot. Remember the story Kaberia used to tell us those days about seeing a fellow in Maua chasing a boy who had stolen a bunch of miraa and he was requesting folks to cut the boy for him, then on reaching the young thief he slashed him with well sharpened panga.
My cousin worked at the Barclays Bank branch in Maua. He told me of an argument in a bar there over a prostitute between a Miraa trader and a fellow from another place. The miraa fellow told him that he was going home to fetch a sword to teach him a lesson. The stupid immigrant should have known that there is no Mumeru from Nyambene hills who makes empty threats and run for his dear life.
After about half an hour, the fellow arrived armed a sword. There was blood thereafter and fellow taken to hospital in a state of mahututi.

Kibaya,
Thanks. It is the way Murungi sang which I found hilarious and the way it came out, the frog and it getting aroused with reference to Kibaki and Uhuru. I knew he was talking about something else but most folks from the other side of the mountain found it amusing.
And what is the name of that Meru fellow who looks like Raila? I think he is ODM and almost thought it was Raila. Raila should hire him to be his double. He had good songs too:)

ha ha ha...this is hilarious stuff! No Kuria, Kiraitu is not capable of the kind of humor you find in Gumo the 'Kaa Ngumu' guy or even kibaki. Agreed, Reuben! It would have been very interesting if the 'frogs' Murungi was referring to (I think NO folks) were getting aroused on seeing Kibaki or Uhuru! Can't imagine Mithika Linturi or Silas Muriuki salivating and getting all aroused on seeing baba Jimmy!kibaya
Kuria; Merus have no time for those kinds of creative imaginations; yetu ni vita, that's why you see almost everyone in those rallies is armed with something. When you see them singing and dancing, don't be fooled it's all good; they could as well be announcing Kuria is ripe for some as% kicking! You hear them sing something like, 'eeh kuria, anunka muruki o thioro, ooh'.., run bro run..coz they're saying Kuria is smelling the smell of a rungu(Reuben & Rose correct?) and sure enough rungus will pouring on your head if you wait around long enough..

Kiraitu sang, 'Kiura kiria kiona Kibaki gikauria tiiri' (when the frog sees Kibaki, it sets off leaving a trail of dust).
In Kimeru it is very far from obscenity. Ask one Kibaya.
Regards,
Reuben.

It's true, "Gukia" by itself would mean raise or even get aroused the way Likondi does in july and August..., but when qualified by 'tiiri' (dust), it means raise dust, as the 'frogs' take to their heels. No humor here, simple war mongering; why dance with those sharp Njoras while calling your opponents frogs and the like?

This message is meant for our brothers who are wasting time and money in court trying to get the referendum postponed.
And what is Murungi saying? Where I come, some of those words are obscene. Did I hear him say Kiura kiona Kibaki giokia in Kimeru? That is Gikuyu
means a frog saw Kibaki and it got aroused!
And the Gospel according to Saint Ruto!
