Dear all,
To repackage kenya for Globalization benefits,we need to understand what Globalization is unfolding and implement the New Law to the letter.
We also need to look at what MDGs is all about and our Vision 2030 to obtain desired standards in development.
That therefore calls for order in the way we do our things from top to bottom. In this regard, professionalism to take the centre stage and not Kijana yetu is not included,or our community has been sidelined for too long.
Thank you all.

M. Muma. Your observation is true! No doubt we have a battle ahead of us to change others perception is not an easy job- now if one is a rapist when would you trust him / her to care of your daughter? In Kenya we are near yet so far, BUT we shall over come someday. Kenyans have to deal with any /and all injustices that have taken and continues to the very day for the nation to move forward not only the 2007 PEV. However, what you fail to point out are a number of issues which Kenya has to deal with before we can reap the benefits of globalization such as; Evolving a policy of agressively attacking corruption, nepotism and reducing perceptions of corruption in Kenya among global investors Aggressively dealing with the problem of a negative perception of Kenya (real or imagined) as a politically unstable country by implementing the new constitution faithfully to deal with grievances of ethnic equity and even distribution of development across the country Addressing poverty and crime Evolving a policy of encouraging private investments of individuals in professional education in business, and IT areas among other business friendly fields Well distributed road and rail infrastructure throughout the country and especially in economic arteries serving the economy By just looking at the above issues in need of attention before we can reap the full benefits of globalization, you can appreciate we have real challenges and along way to go. Nations that have benefited from Globalisation includes India,Brazil,South Africa and finally China, and what about Kenya?
Sadly the same cannot be said about African countries, which have largely missed out on the benefits of economic globalization despite implementing far reaching market-oriented reform from the early 1980s onwards under the watchful eye of the IMF and the World Bank.
However Kenya spirit should not be damped, is time we repackaged Kenya and there are ways on how to ensure that Kenya does not miss out again on the benefits of economic globalization. I have identified areas that Kenya could use its strength in globalization area. 1-Sports Ministry of sports should come up with a matter of policies to identify and locate all sports events in the world that our sportsmen and women could participate in this will not only help boost our economy but also build our global image. 2-Trade The global population will of course need food and also some related goods and services ,this is time we develop a department or an authority to defend Kenya as a best investment destination. 3-ICT We can borrow from India ,ICT facilities were made affordable and this help in outsourcing services and human capital was enhanced which has made India largest outsourcing nation in the world. 4-Language Policy. Kenya has a rare opportunity to aggressively market Kiswahili to other nations let us use our athletes and other people professionals to market Kiswahili to other nations. From my simple estimates if just 20 Nations in Africa could effectively speak Kiswahili Kenya stand to generate annually Ksh 30B in direct benefits which can help our Nation build more social amenities ,educate more people provide health services to mau mau heroes Thanks Gibson Amenya Enigma Consultants Kenya Limited NHC Building,3rd Flr Kenya +254720424218, +254-722-825417 Uganda ++256784867430 P.O Box 54753-00200 Nairobi Email: gib.amenya@enigma.or.ke Email:info@enigma.or.ke Audit,Taxation and Business Advisory Services
