RE: BOOK LAUNCH – THE KENYA'S 2007 GENERAL ELECTIONS
The Society for International Development (SID) and the Institute for Development Studies (IDS), University of Nairobi have just finalised a publication auditing and reflecting on the Kenya's 2007 General Elections.
We are happy to invite you to the launch of this publication to be held on Monday, 26th July 2010 at the Nairobi Serena Hotel from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.
Titled Tensions and Reversal in Democratic Transition: The Kenya 2007 General Elections, the book grapples with the challenge of democratization in a fragmented society, and makes findings and conclusions that would be useful for the forthcoming referendum and other Agenda 4 processes.
Written by a team of Kenyan academics and writers, the book analyses the main forces that shaped the 2007 elections as well as the implications of its outcome for democracy in Kenya. It examines, among other themes, political parties' manifestoes and nominations, SMS and new technologies, opinion polling, campaign financing, gender, electoral management, mediation
