Re: Get the vote out campaign-The KATIBA has passed, now get out the vote!!!!

This is the spirit, chief of "No Defection Monitoring Unit".

I have just being talking and strategizing with some young people on how they will ensure that they literally wake up their age mates very early and shepard them to vote YES b4 partaking to drinks!

Yes we are certainly switching gears to "nuts and bolts" issues of the campaign- Getting it To Happen the GREEN WAY as we intensify the struggle.

Subject: Get the vote out campaign-The KATIBA has passed, now get out the vote!!!!

While it is a foregone conclusion that the Draft KATIBA will pass come August 4th, focus by the YES team should now move from campaigning for the draft to getting the vote out. Kenyans by and large have accepted that the draft KATIBA is good and will definitely not throw it out for whatever reason, much of which they can deal with post referendum. Only a deluded person would think of that.

In the remaining 10 days, the YES team and adherents need to ensure that all voters are encouraged to come out in large numbers not only to pass the darft KATIBA but to do so resoundingly and convincingly to show any doubting Thomases that a new and good constitution is an idea whose time has come. Make a date for this.

In this regard, all YES should encourage each other and the undecided to come out, pass by friends and neigbours on the way to the polling booths armed with one determination, the determination to make Kenya ours, to determine how it is governed and above all, bring national resources down to the people through devolution. Make a date for this.

This is a civic duty that we must not play around with lest we leave our resources in the hands of the elite like it has been for the last over 40 years. We must ensure that for once;

  • we will get the full benefits of our taxes through devolution,
  • we must not allow politicians to refuse to pay taxes
  • we must ensure politicians never determine the salaries again.
  • we must ensure we can recall non perfoming MPs.
  • we must ensure we never have violence during elections ever again by putting in place a good electoral system.
  • we must ensure no region is ever marginalised again irrespective of who is President or whether they are in opposition.
  • we must ensure we enjoy all the overwhelming benefits that this draft brings to Kenya.
  • we must ensure we have institutions that work.

Make a date for these.

This is a revolutionary moment, this is a historic moment for Kenya and more gratifying is that the years of struggle for a reformed and transformed Kenya is coming to pass. Many may fear change, and we should not blame them, we should encourage them to manage change and not let change manage them, their fears, like the fears of all conservatives and well founded, some people have never known a better way of doing things all their lives ,let alone imagine there could be better ways of doing things, many of these are the 1990s anti reformists. We must show them alternative ways of making things work where they have failed. Make a date for this.

Time has come to reassure them that things can be done better and they will work, and that you do not have to make the same mistake again and again, over and over hoping that somewhere along the line, the mistake will rectify itself. Make a date for this reassurance.

Make a date,

Let us all GET OUT AND GET THE VOTE OUT on the 4th of August!!!!!
