Re: Kenya's President takes on Moi

During Moi's time, people whispered in Bars in hushed tones, touched under tables to ensure no recorders to their conversations and people constantly watched their backs in fear, as scripts of what was going on inside the Nyayo house torture dangeons filtered in.

Kibaki and the PM have allowed themselves to be criticised at will and Mzee Moi is now enjoying the freedom of expresion he denied us for 24 years.

He failed to give us a new constitution in 24years and he should leave Kibaki alone and stop interfering with his reform agenda which he wants to achieve in 8years unlike Moi's 24years of misrule.
I agree with President Kibaki, ni aibu kwa Mzee kufanya hivi and I wish he noticed the legacy and iconic respect Mandela is enjoying in retirement.

Anyone who thinks well of Moi is not being honest. Moi and his hench men destroyed this country totally.

We are where we are because of his misrule, Why lie!!!! All industries especially in Nyanza shut down, our health care, education systems were eroded.

Plundering of public land ,institutions is a painful story. Every peice of public land was sold , even public toilets, kenyans were never suppose to answer to calls of nature away from their homes.

Not mentioning entrenchment of corruption, tribalism and nepotism.

Moi created an ungovernable state.

How can we forget the torture chambers where our brothers and sisters lost their lives, their dignity, their limbs etc,

How can one forget?

No!!!! We forgive but we don't forget. He would do us a favour by just shutting up and living a quiet life in the village.

Moi did us bad.

Jonah, hehehehehehehe!!! Eti Moi is articulating issues clearly? Hehehehe!!!

Moi had 24 years and all he did was ruin lives and dismantle the economy. Moi aende zake huko. He's lucky Kenyans are a forgiving lot. He would be articulating these issues clearly, but from behind the Kamiti prison walls.

Courage
Maurice

Hata yeye siku moja atakuwa retired president. And people will tell him where he messed the country.

Citizen Moi has a right to comment on the draft katiba. The YES team are scared and that is why they are going personal and attacking Moi. Let them address the issues on the draft which Moi is articluating very clearly.

I love the punches from Migosi Mwai Kibaki:)

"Some people in their old age are running all over. I feel pity for them," he said in a clear reference to the former President.

"There are those waiting to be enticed to join us. I ask myself why anybody should be soothed," he wondered.

The President put aside his diplomatic mien and told his predecessor to let Kenyans pass the new law that he failed to deliver during his 24-year tenure as Head of State.
