Oh dear folks,
Elijah,
Let us not go far, just tell me whether it is true that Kisiis said that the only Civic Education they understand is the repair of Keroka- Kisii road. That is what you posted and I am not quoting you out of context.
Given that you are on record as having been involved in Civic Education in that region, if at this time and age, that is what you have imparted, then I want to confirm that that is the most absurd interpretation I have ever heard.
Oh, I came in late because I was bereaved and had to spend some time with my folks up-country. So, it is not what you think.
Incidentally, why are you so obsessed with this tribe thing? Did a Luo man steal your wife?

DickensI cant blame you for coming in late when we have exhausted. In summary, you cannot teach Wayahudi on how to slaughter a human being. They did it ncely for the sake of everyone.Luo Nyanza does not need education - ignorance is the way of life. One man has made a decision for all Luo Nyanza - YOU included. And that we cannot hide. I will be a lunatic to do civic education in Kisumu? Isnt - even Lai had police escort from the airport to Kenyatta grounds..... so is that what you call be informed bwan dickens when Kisumu is classified as a hot spot? Wacha zako........ ..be objectiveYou need to see a doctor to examine you since you are Moi phobia. I dont like writings on Moi. He left a legacy, ruling for 24 years, no constitution and yet still people love to talk about himLastly, learn to speak swahili and Dholuo. As i know you, you have a problem pronouncing some words in Luo. And tell me what civic education you dane other than joyriding on Raila's image. The referednum result will reveal whihc part of Kenya understood the constitution. Those who will vote following one pattern will be the ignorant lot. Kisiis ofcourse will vote fairly, and not mass follower of some cultic icons.RegardsKombo Elijah

Subject: Re: [KOL] Re: [NewVisionKenya] Kisiis Vote NO intelligently!
I nearly missed this but I must observe these two things.
Firstly, Nd. Kombo needs to know that Civic Education and Campaigns are two distinct things. Civic Education is impartial. Voters in Luo Nyanza and other places got it that fast and that is why they made up their minds way back. They can afford to tell the pastors off when they are spreading their lies. Campaigns are of course biased. Even if it involves perpetuating lies like Ruto and the Church leaders have done and do continue to do. The PM instructed the PSs to campaign because the reforms are a government project by dint of Agenda 4. It is that simple, the rest of the argument are just that...argument.
This is for Nd. Kombo: If Kisii's understanding of Civic Education is the repair of Keroka to Kisii road, then I hold you Kombo and Ogaro personally responsible for the pathetic job you have made of the civic education in Kisiiland for the last 2 months. You owe that community an apology. You similarly owe people of goodwill an apology.
The body language of Moi in his campaigns speak louder than words. The mzee is very afraid of something. My hunch is that he is very afraid of the 24 years he presided over a myriad of ills.
Did Obama and Raila read it for the Luos? I don't think so. Perhaps they read it for Kenyans. And those who have read it for themselves or have had it explained to them are in agreement with the duo that this draft is good. I get worried when a draft constitution is understood on the basis of what "our community" stands to benefit from it. This is parochial.
The sum total, Nd. Kombo, is that with the kind of education you have imparted, the Kisii's cannot vote intelligently as the title of this thread seems to suggest. Kindly let them know that the constitution, when it is passed, will be for Kenyans. Issues of repair of roads will be undertaken with the present and new constitution.

Firstly, we said Civic Education is one that is NOT biased. See - the civil servants have been stopped from doing civic education because they are meant to non-partisan. But they have been instructed by Raila to use state resources to campaign for the document. Have heard that Ndemo was shouted down in Kisii. Ongeri and Obure are seeking the help of Kibaki. Kisiis told them that the civic education they need is repairing the roads from Keroka to Kisii. They are panicking that they will not deliver the votes. If the government is sure of winning, why send money to woo voters? In places like Kisumu, you do not need to campaign. The Luos are known that they will follow Raila wherever he goes. And that is Pastor Lai had police escort from airport to Kisumu Redeemed Gospel Church. Its unnecessary to conduct civic education in areas you know have been poisoned with falsehood. In Rangwe, i gathered that the political aspirants are saying 'hii katiba Obama na Raila walisema ni msuri. Itatusaidia tuzae watoto wengi ndio tuwe na Obama wengi and Raila watisaidie'. That is civic education my brother Sungu's cousins are teaching. They continued 'Moi aliweka police station hapa, kwa hivyo ataleta jela mingi hapa. Tunataka mheshimiwa atoe hii police station hapa iende uko somalia" (this was in reference to a local police post established years back). A councillor stood and said 'nani anapinga kama Raila amesema?"As a chief guest, i had no say. You cannot tell this people all they are saying is rubbish..... ........mere verbal diarrhoe as Mahdy puts it.I attended a funeral where a strong YES pastor regreted why he picked the microphone to preach! He preached and finally found himself rejecting the Constitutiton because he failed to convince the locals on abortion. He found himself unable to interpret the Constitution properly on abortion and found out that what the Bible says is the whole truth and nothing but the truth. He finally changed him mind to the amazement of some 200 Christians he said NO.Nyaringo, if given an opportunity to speak in Murang'a this week, i will bring a good report. But i will also never accompany Martha Karua to conduct civic education. Its like someone who went to see his uncles in Nyeri and he came back singing YES yes. I have the abiloity to convince a khokhoi to buy a sweater jacket in the sahara desert. If opportunity arises, we will campaign together or test the waters pamoja - and you will discover that some of us do not need to speak but just wave, and the crowd will roar NO to the Katiba. If Moi indeed wrong, they should throw him in hell in cell. If indeed he grabbed land, they should publish and Kenyans will judge by themselves. If indeed he was corrupt, they should openly state this. Why kep threatening him and yet they do not say anything - a sign of cowardice or what?Nyaringo, i am disappointed with KCA. This is the second time i am attacking KCA and its seems that its leadership have forgotten. Its not playing its mandate properly and has transformed itself to a group of run-away noisy Kenyans. Its a brain drain that will never utilize its top brains to change Kenya. They have failed to produce a single presidential candidate and even failed to produce the alternative leadership we need. I am frustrated by KCA for being double sided entity where selfish interest are practiced. KCA has resorted to destroying themselves instead of even being defenders of justice. They have sponsored questionable characters in our parliament today, poured in money dubiosly without considering the end results. How come they acted too late on the GoK allowing the Diaspora to vote? How come KCA issues a statement and later some 91 disgruntled elements denounce it? How come you have put unhealthy competition ahead of the millions of Kenyan working and living abroad? Why are some KCA member involved in corruption and yet want others to regard them highly! How come KCA is not outspoken on several injustices that have been happening in Kenya. Can KCA put its house in order, act proactively as opposed to being reactionary and crying foul over things they could have stopped before they happen. You need to set a strong advisory wing in your entities to show round the reality....these illusions will not make this country better!Kombo Elijah

Ndugu Kombo,
Being in America doesn't detach me from home. We're in this forum because we love Kenya and most of the discussions we hold are geared towards seeing a better Country for our future and the future of our children. Whether you are in the Eastern or Western blocks, what happens in our homeland affects you directly.
In Gusiiland, I may not be on the ground but remember what I told you yesterday, I have tested the political waters of Gusiiland and no matter how you will argue, our people will vote for the katiba kwa miguu, mikono ,akili, macho na masikio yao yote.
For Dr. Matunda, to my understanding, he has been conducting civic education not only in the whole of Gusii but also in Mt. Kenya especially in Muranga. He has not been dishing goodies the way you purport but only enlightening our people about the wonderful law we shall vote in on August 4th.
On Moi, if he was in yes, I will still dance with him and treat him like the prodigal son. The problem with the old man is being on the wrong side of history all the time- yesterday, today and even tomorrow. Again, if I were his sons, I will tell him to shut up, rest and enjoy the loot that he stole from Kenyans.
Thank God we are a very forging nation. If Kibaki was Levi Mwanawasa, God forbid, today Moi will be in prison having sleepless nights. In fact, his accounts could have been drained by legal representation. Look at the old man, walking with his bakora and behaving like Kenya is in the 1990s. Otherwise, his presence in no camp has scared many Kenyans because they don't trust him.I just wonder what Kombo, Okiya and the rest are doing with Moi.
Watch this space, Gusiiland will vote more than 82% for the new katiba.

Ndugu SunguListen please. Firstly the three generals you have mentioned Evans Machera, Dr. Matunda Nyanchama and Lister Nyaringo are all holed up in the USA and we dont even know if they have voters cards! With an exception of DR Matunda who went only to his home area to dish out some goodies in support of the Katiba, the rest have never stepped in Kisii in the last 12 months! And Dr Matunda is from a region of Adventist who are likely to follow their clergymen. It doesnt worry me since the Adventist are mere 1% of Kisiis.Secodnly, those who are whispering to you should speak louder and clear. They should not be like Kalonzo who whispered until he was forced to shout. Nyaringo is the safe haven in the USA and maybe he called his kin and kiths who told YES bila kujua jirani anasema nini. A phone call is not enough. Kenyans in the diaspora do not have base-touch and therefore their assumption is not accurate. (Please read my other email on KCA's failure - ineptitude leadership that has lacked focus and vision). Even you Sungu, you have visited Rarieda only once, and you want to say they are all saying YES Sungu - see probably they needed the dollar and once you step out its NO......The three generals are like you - who has decided to stay in Juba unitl Aug4, I am not even sure if you will be around to vote! I have just discovered that the most noise makers here neither have a voters or even registered as one! Those generals who have decided to go quiet on blogs are tired of fighting opponents that you can destroy by sending a fly. The truth is that the YES team is in panic, and total panic! On Aug 4th, a million will fall by the wayside, a million will fall on the right and a million on the left.Kombo Elijah

Mr. Sungu:
You got it all wrong my friend as far as I am concerned; if you call these shenanigans by President Kibaki and PM Odinga fair play i.e. the blatant disregard of the rule of law via the abuse of police powers, abuse of the civil service code of conduct and all applicable laws, use of fear and intimidation by the very top principles responsible for upholding the law; I mean the list is long, then all is lost Mr. Sungu. It is desperation of the highest order and I am not afraid to stand at the edge of the cliff and refuse to join the multitude, you can slice it any way you want but this stinks to mighty heavens and regrettable, I will be proven right soon enough. This thing is more about egos than what is right for Kenya, simple, period end of story. The "No" and "Yes" folks have giant egos to nurse for ages, I am one to tell you ego is not an issue here guys, I am not running for office, Ruto is, Odinga is, Musyoka is and Kibaki has a legacy to leave behing, a very bad mix for sobriety.
Now as for Kisiis, I am very proud to be counted as one of the fiercely independent groups of people in Kenya, it is in our genes and I have no apologies for it. Unlike our neighbors to the lake who are tightly beholden to one family, Kisiis are not and our voting patterns reflect this fact; just look at South Mugirango, PNU lost, ODM lost; the draft will lose in Kisii as well not so much because I said it but generally because it doesn't fulfill what it should and as for what it portends to offer, it is all a vacuum designed for political calculations, that is all. I maintain, this thing is wrong, the process is rotten and gets worse by the day, laws are flagrantly flouted by the president; so I don't see how anyone on the "YES" side can legitimately claim victory but for the crooked and nefarious way they have gone about this thing. It is wrong and my conscience dictates I stand by the truth, for me this is not a popularity contest; it is what is right for me and my country, by most counts, this AIN'T IT!

Lieutenant Kombo,Generals from Kissi like Evans Machera, Dr. Matunda Nyanchama and Lister Nyaringo who also traverse those regions and have relatives there tell a different story from the one you and your brother are trying to console yourselves with.Apparently, they are not brothers so they are more believable than the two of you!!! Matunda has also traversed Kissi regularly and so has Machera. Nyaringo is in regular touch with his feelers on the ground and he whispers to us that bthe ground id all GREEN.Even david Ochangi who believed the KATIBA woud not pass has since gone mute, it is only the two of you from that region who still kick and yell NO while all around you is crumbling, all Genarals in NO have gone silent on the blogs and forums as they await the YES victory and they are making tactful retreats while you still bare your chest for bullets. Do you hear them any more?Brother, get back to reality and stop behaving like a man who even after the wife has left him for good, still wakes up in the night hoping to find her by his side, go out and find another wife!!!!!!It is amazing that the two brothers seem to be seeing what everyone else from Gussiland seem not to see, could it be a coincidence?Otieno Sungu

General Kaguoya,
President Kibaki in 1988 during the Mlolongo voting syetem of Nyayo said, that if you want to steal, you better do it intelligently.
I want to invite you to the same.
Everybody knows that Kenya is turning Green. Cardinal Njue, The Princes in these fora, everybody else, except you and your brother! You must be from an alien space where neanderthals reign supreme.
We all know Kisii and we have friends in Kisii, and they are telling us tales that are music to our ears....they are with Kenyans on the Green Train and it is sad that it is only Kombo and Jonah, from the whole of Kisii are saying NO; you are herewith demoted.
You will no longer be a General. You are a disgrace to the ranks and we all now know that. You are beyond redemption. Say No and follow your hearts desire. The beauty is that you are a Kenyan, and we, meaning the Greens, will fight for your rights to saying NO even as you sink into oblivion.
Peace Lieutenant, and have nice dreams in your sojourn.

My brother and I treversed Kisii like no one else on the invitation of a friend. The purpose of the visit was not pleasant but we could not avoid talking about land, kadhi, devoluiton and others things on the Katiba. We began our journey through Suswa where we met the Chief of the area. He was travelling to attend a DC meeting in preparation of Ruto's visit. He confirmed to us that the YOUTH in William Ole Ntimama area are saying YES without winking an eye.We stopped in Keroka, then branched to Nyamesocho - Ongeri Constituency. In all the places we visited, the people said NO. Despite the good raod the minister has put, people are weary of the dangers this Katiba is bringing forth.Arriving in Kisii through Gekano, Nyamira and attending elders session - it was all RED CARD. The road through Nyachae's home is impassable with pot-holes the size of kindaruma dam. Kisii are sad people. During the recent campaigns at Magara area, top brass flew over the skies avoing civic education on pot holes. Therefore Kisii resolved to receive money but VOTE NO.We travelled to Oyugis to see our great grandfather Ondare - the song was the same NO. As we arrived home in Marani through Onyonka panya route - we were exhasuted listening to NO NO songs. We wondered what Civic Education has done to Kisii. I understood that Rannerberg left some dollars for grabs. Omogusii is currently squandering them and waiitng for August 4th to vote NO.If you wanna read the voting pattern of Kisii, please remember Magara, and ODM, 2007 Presidentail electionKombo Elijah--
