MPs plead with Kibaki to solve their pay increase dispute

Wow, what kind of reasoning (if any) is this, by our MPs? Eti because they've committed their salaries in mortgages they have to be added over 200k/= to take care of tax -- HE The President to intervene? Give us a break!!! When they talk of mortgages, how many Kenyans can afford even 1 good meal a day?  I wish every Kenyan could have the ability to commit their earnings to only 1 meal a day, forget about a mortgage! Wapi dr Papa Likondi...these MPs are the Bure kabisa.  They should continue kabisa to boycott parliament's recess and push for earlier elections (as they threaten).
Olola.

MPs plead with Kibaki to solve their pay increase dispute

The MPs are said to have argued at the meeting that almost all of them had committed their pay, including in mortgages and that most of them took home a paltry amount of money as wages.

"I can tell you that if you check the pay slip of majority of members, their take home is as low as Sh50,000 while some even get nothing because they have over committed their salaries. To introduce taxes without increasing their salaries will be suicidal," said a member.
