TO THE YOUTH OF KENYA-GET OUT THE VOTE, YOUR MOMENT!!!!

Now that we are coming to the actual D-Day of the constitutional moment, and having gone through all the misinformation by the NO camp, Chapter by chapter in the last few weeks, in essence silencing most of the initial loud and fierce anti reformers on these blogs and foras(except for a few obstinate ones who are stuck on without substance) and a succeesful appeal to the Kenyan woman to get the vote out on August 4th to emancipate, empower and give affirmative action to their cause,  a call that the women of goodwill are now spreading like bushfire, we, the YES Generals turn our focus to you, the Kenyan youth, to do your bit in ensuring an equitable society for yourself, one in which your issues as youth will be articulated.

Unemployment has caused many of us to seek "refuge" in towns where life is not easy either. Many of us are in diaspora to erk a living, away from friends and family. We crowd cities with the hope of getting employment but many of us, armed with degrees and certificates from colleges and institutions of higher learning, cannot get gainful employment. The draft constutution now brings employment closer to the people. With regional governments, the county governments, employment opportunities will open up in county offices, trade and business opportunities will avail themselves at local levels and local economies making them able to absorb most of us, mitigating  the rural-urban migration.

There is now deliberate affirmative action to ensure you are involved in relevant education and training, participate in political and economic activity and have access to employment.

Perharps what the youth must celebrate most is the fact that the law enforcers will no longer have the "right" to bully the youth, arrest them arbitrarily and even execute as we have seen in the recent past. The draft KATIBA requires that you are promptly informed why you are being arrested for  thus abitrary arrests and lock ups by police are coming to an end.

The land question, being fought by land grabbers who do not wish to put the hundreds thousands of hectares of idle land acquired illegally intto good use to ensure effective, sustainable and economic land use to ensure employment, food sufficiency and spurring economic growth through export of agriculatural produce are our worst enemies!!!! These are people we should shun like the plague, they have no interest in an equitable society, they are men and women of the stomach, be warry of them and keep away from them in this cause.

With the ability to run as independents in elections should the political party lords deny us chances, we shall be able to mobilize and wriggle ourselves into the heart of political power which is a means to the ultimate end, quality leadership for Kenya, ort tomorrow that we started hearing when Kenyatta died in the 1979, that tomorrow which has never come and some who were loud telling us we were the leaders of tomorrow as still out there, in their grey hairs, fighting against reforms that will ensure we are able to find ways and means of participating in politcal activity without being hirelings and voting machines for this class. They are literally blocking our tomorrow which has come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shindwe!!!!!!

This is your moment, just like for  the woman of Kenya, a historic one to break the shackles of the progeny and monolithic elite, the ones whose only interest in this KATIBA is protecting stolen wealth for which Kenya is poor because of back breaking external debt burden thus unable to channel funds to job creation, the reason your little resources get taxed higher than almost anywhere else in the world, to service the debt burden of the oppulent lives of the current anti reformists who stole from us and rendered us debtors for literally the rest of our living lives(unless you die soon you owe more than you can even imagine courtesy of mega corruption).

This is the historic moment, the constitutional moment to right some of these wrongs but moreso, give us a chance to get into the driving seat of our country's destination.

Get out the vote on August 4th, take along your friends, neigbours, relatives and colleagues to the booth that will cut the chains of servitude. We must become our own masters with this new constitutional moment, after all, we form more than half the voters of this country.

Otieno Sungu.
Getting out the Vote for a new Kenya!!!!
