Re: I am so proud of William Ruto

Dear Alai,

I rarely comment here, but this topic is of high interest to me as a recent investor in social capital.

I agree with waziri for the move, but I think the right way to go is to give each institution a chance to be heard and room for improvement and time for compliance. Reasons;
1. The gap that this colleges have been filling will create a crisis for needy families who cannot afford the high cost colleges found by rich people/politicians and some of the universities who are lobbying for the closure sp that they can benefit from the spoils
2. Some counties have soo many colleges already from government and private sector while others like my Siaya have less than 5 including my young one in Bondo
3. Some of the fancy looking ones that have complied and some government ones have also not given quality education since the lecturers are teaching part-time and the so called paralell prgrammes have made them complacent.
4. The investment has not only helped in creating employment besides offering education, but have brought out agressive and innovative people who have had international links.
5. Conservative government inspectors have generous lenses that asks for too much e.g. the kind of space in terms of acreage a college needs while in Asia where land is an issue, especially in the islands, nobody thinks of college and sports....

By the way that does not mean those who are fleecing poor Kenyans should go scotfree.

Subject: I am so proud of William Ruto

Guys

I am so proud of our current Minister for Higher Education. Hon Ruto is facing the fraudsters who are robbing our young kids, brotehrs and sisters through fake degrees and certificates. I have fought this war and neither Saitoti nor Kosgey was willing to walk the talk. Ruto has ordered a freeze to Universities taking over Middle Level Colleges, he is vouching for quality as opposed to quantity education which we currently experienced.

I dont agree with Hon Ruto on a few things but I must proclaim from the top of the hills that I am so proud of Hon Ruto. His way of running the Higher Education Ministry makes me so proud of him.

I am so proud of you Waziri

Regards
