Re: siaya county

We will steer the County onto a better path, a path of economic, social and political progress.

We will take control of our natural resources and use that wealth to build a more caring and equitable society. Part of the sky will belong to us. We will hold our hands up and say " we count at last, thank God almighty we count at last".

We will provide incentives for our professionals and the diaspora to come home and invest. The poor, the kids the dispossessed, they shall not be left behind.

Yes, we will build something beautiful in Siaya dala.

Courage,
Maurice

Jagem and others interested in Siaya county seats should be telling us what they intend to do differently.

Jagem thura, Siaya has always been the hotbed of progressive politics and now we have the opportunity to show the rest of the Republic what we are made of. We do not need representatives that look down their noses at the people.

I have sat down with brave men and women of Siaya in chang'aa and busaa dens and they have shared their hopes and dreams and fears with me. They have asked that we have leaders who respect them and care about their welfare. My very good friend Ong'wen who repairs bicycles at Ukwala Market is better suited to represent Ugenya e Legico for example but he has never had a platform on which to stand. We'll give him that platform. The time for these so-called professors has passed.

JaGem Nera, hear me on this one. Jackline Oduol and Elizabeth Ongoro are totally unacceptable to the Siaya electorate. I will personally travel from Nyadorra/Usonga to Ng'iya, from Yimbo to Asembo, from Yala to Sidindi and from Rang'ala to Sega and Ukwala to spread the message that we as a pepole of Siaya must chart our own destiny and we do not need these proffessors from Nairobi who disrespect us to come here to lead us. We'll hire them as technical support, that's it.

We have a chance to build something beautiful in Siaya.

Courage,
Maurice Oduor Owad gAtieno, CPE etc.

To Mi Naulisa wewe Maurice, "What does the Voter want?" Are you the entire voting block of Siaya Kababa; thur gi Musa Juma, gi Benta Nyar Koyugi kaachiel gi "Odham Wembe" yaani Ng'ola?

Now, whether you don't want them near power or not, these people may work themselves into, those positions of power. The best thing to do is to start your campaingns and civic education now, so that, when the right time comes you can be elected as Governor. From here you can then effectively install institutions in the County that will make it be a model of Administration.

If you do not do this then what will happen is that these people you "Reject" will be the ones to implement the said institutions. That is when trouble sets in. Going by the past development records of these people, nothing much will be achieved. I also seriously doubt if Oburu will be equal to the task!!!!!! As far as I am concerned if I do not become the Governor, then there is a young Budding Businessman from Ugunja (the place where Maro did mysterious things) He goes by the name Muwanga. He already brought a lot of Maendeleo over there using his own efforts and funds. He is the progressive type. Nonetheless, I will beat him and probably make him my Leutenant (Deputy) Governor.

Dr Oburu Odinga can actually make a good governor but he has to give us a commitment that he'll surround himself with professionals that will help him implement development policies. Siaya should be a pilot project of how a County should be run and I for one I am willing to take a year off my job in Canada to help the County build capacity.

JT, Siaya produces the highest number of Professors in the country and it's only logical that we become a pilot and show the rest of the country how a County should be run. I just don't want Prof Jackline Oduol anywhere near power.
She's a very arrogant lady and has no connection with the reality on the ground. Let her stay in Nairo as a Deputy Secretary. The Alego/Usonga electorate rejected her candidacy in 2007 and now that I look back I think they had a prescient take on her.I do not want Elizabeth Ongoro either. She's a very proud lady. I arranged for her and a group of officials from the Nairobi Metropolitan Ministry to visit our Drinking Water facility here in Canada and she was only interested in talking to the Wazungus and not me, the person who organized the visit. That I found to be unacceptable. She has to go. The Kasarani electorate has to tuff her out in 2012.

Orengo will be a good Senator for Siaya County though. Otiende Amolo comes across as a braggart. I don't want him near power either. Let him do his law thing in Nairo.

We are on our own now and we have to make it happen; we will. Siaya will be the shining star in the Republic if I have the chance to do the staffing for the County.

Chris Owala, let's work on this.

Siaya Kababa

"You is wrong". There ai'nt nobody who is gonna stop me from seeking and taking the Office of Siaya Governor. I know what it takes to plan and organize the logistics that are needed for Siaya to be successful. I will have a Government that will be unmatched by other Counties administratively.

All these people you wonna tell us are lining up for the County Leadership do not have a clue how a county Government is supposed to be run successfully. Kwa hiyo tutakuwa na wewe Kiwanjani. Ni Lazima tuiniw Siaya na Vipengee viake viwe katika hali ya kisasa kwa kimaendeleo. Kose??

Chris,
Who are these boardroom delegates that decided to handpick leaders for the people of Siaya County with no option for fair and democratic elections?
I think this process is premature at this stage and it may impact negatively on our democratic space. When the time comes, let anybody interested in any position show their
leadership prowess for the electorate to decide.Floating names at this juncture will prove futile.
