Re: Jaoko Ejected from KNCHR

The law is very clear on appointments and removal of commissioners from office and action by some of the commissioners purporting to oust the chair must be supported and anchored in the law. We are lost when human right activists are themselves breaking the law and infringing on members rights. Nonetheless, it is prudent for them to tell the public the nature of complaints they have against their chair, otherwise we may not be wrong to deduce that it is ego, male chauvinism and personal contest at play in a public office.

Jaoko is staying put. That is Kenyan style. People don't resign especially when the package is juicy. She is hiding under security of tenure. Only a tribunal can recommend her removal. BUT how come, it is the Commisioners who appointed her the chair BUT when it comes to removal it should be a Tribunal. Now, which meeting will she hold as Chair if fellow Commissioners boycot the meetings?
 
She needs to seek advise from one good gentleman Dr. Simokin Wanjala.
