Dear Nziu, I would likeyou to be more specific. These are serious allegations that you are raising against Florence Jaoko, whom I know to be a fellow lawyer of good public standing. She was a Senior Magistrate in Nairobi High courts for many years and an elected member of the Kenya women magistrates association. She has also been a lecturer at the Kenya school of law. In a country like Kenya which lags behind on gender issues and other appointments forwomen, we need to do our best to preserve and support the women who are actually in such positions. Hence FIDA K and ICJ *international commission of jurists* standing up for her. It does not help to bad mouth her in fora like this one with no concrete evidence. We must move away from impunity and follow the rule of law. If an investigation is done according to the law, and what you say is true, I will be the first to call for her resignation. The behaviour of the commissioners is tantamount to reducing public respect for the work that the KNHRC can do. I am sure that there is a way in which such conflict within can be handled without causing the public spectacle they are creating.....
You seem to know alot about who did what WITHIN the commission and I wonder who leaked this information to you......
With the coming of the new constitution there is a mood towards rejecting impunity and tactics of disrespect for positions of great importance to the common man. Dont forget that defamation of character is subject to judicial redress unless there is concrete evidence of the issues claimed to be causing it .................You seem to know so much
So, unless you can produce the concrete evidence of Ms.Jaokos misdeameanors and felonies, I would urge you to reconsider the nature of your postings on Florence.
