Re: The scramble for Kenya

YOUTHS,

Tribalism and ignorance has really deepened their roots in Kenyan`s lives. Kenyans believe that if  one of his/her tribes man raises to power  will guarantee good crops and healthy life . But sometimes an observer wonder at their ignorance. How can Kenyans keep on believing on these old politicians, some have even sold the country to the dogs or have scandales after scandales. If the youths are not careful, life will pass them by. Some of the  present politicians are already too rich, which means that they can buy any medical services their money can afford and that turns into higher life expectancy than the ordinary youths who keep on voting for them. In short they will live for a long time even longer than the present youths in this mlalahoi here. Just look at Kibaki or Moi how many ordinary men of their age (their Agemates) even in their provinces are still a live and are healthy as they are today?. Corruption is now shifting to the counties and youths or voters who are only after what to put in their stomach will be bought to vote for them again. It is upon the youths to define what they want and what they want Kenya to look like, New constitution alone will not change anything to be good if action is not taken. I mean strong  and hard decissions with concrate ideas and goals. If no proper strategy are put forward you will see them ruling for life.

Friends,

As you are reading this, many people, all old men who have been in the political scene are meeting clandestinely right now planning how to share Kenya.

They are salivating at the prospects of becoming our Governors, our Senators, our MPs, our Civic Leaders, and our County CEOs. The press is awash with these re-alignments of forces that have been there since Independence.

They are real shameless; they do not care that for the last 47 years, they have looted Kenya dry; they have presided over tyranny on us until we said enough was enough and started agitating for change; they have used our tribes as a means to engage us in perpetual fights.

They have been the key pillars driving corruption in our country and they have had no regard to the rule of law. They were not even in the scenes as we all fought for this new constitution. And now that we have voted for a new constitution, they have seen it as ready food on the table.

Unashamed about the plight of the common mwananchi, they have started what is a kin to the Scramble for Kenya. What can we do as a country to stop these vultures hoovering over our heads?

I want to invite you to think with us. We just launched Vugu Vugu Mashinani- staying with the issues the other day in Nairobi in a forum that was very well attended. We want to invite you to form similar forums in your Counties and we will compare notes as we move on. We already have key persons in a few Counties.

We will all invite Kenyans to look at the key issues and stay with them. Let us not for a moment remove our eyes from the prize. These people already partitioning seats amongst themselves are like squirrels who are clouding our sights. We must ignore them and plan for our New Kenya.

In this New Kenya, we want to consign tribalism, corruption and ineptness to the back banners of history. As we do this, we must also consign any person who has been part of the past mess to the same dustbin of history.

They had their time and they failed. Now it is our time and no matter how wealthy they are, our combined votes will shape them up and rest them in peace. For 47 years they have stolen from us and we must unite to stop them now.

Let us not look at our tribal affiliations. Let us look at Mother Kenya and stand up to be counted. They were given a chance to physically count us and they also failed in those simple things of additions.

It is our time to organize. Let us seize the moment and turn Kenya around. We can do it, so let us do it.

Lastly, get for your self a copy of The Champion- a new weekly publication. It covered the launch of Vugu Vugu Mashinani very well.
