Re: From Harambee Stars... to

Since they have shown that they can't win, let's use them for other purposes such as, promoting our tourism sector, their poor performance notwithstanding.

In this regard, let's call them Wild beasts or Kongoni. Let's also draw a hapless looking, big wild beast on their T shirts.

See, even the Australians call their team Socceroos - after tweaking the name "kangaroos". Let's be fair to our brave lions in Tsavo. You don't give such a moniker to a team that can loose to Guinea Bissau, a fringe country that I am struggling to locate in the map!

After all, wild beasts, by their nature, are feckless creatures that always struggle to stay alive...sounds familiar?

Just venting after the loss...

Evans,

If there is such faith  in being able to win using scare tactics, then I recommend we drop having coaches and resort to proven expert in scaremongering such as witchdoctors, actors, mega vuvuzelas and a specially retrained Kenya Police Band with custom-made drums and other assorted noise-generating devices. This might also be cheaper. But I share your more precise skepticism. The “Elephants” did not stampede many teams in South Africa and neither did the old Zairean “Leopards” rip their opposition to pieces in their hay days. I assume that this exchange is for entertainment and not for serious advice on how to improve performance.

My brother Machera,

That is why He is Drogba and not Machera. Imagine If he was Didier Machera, he would never have become a serious footballer. He would have ended in the streets of .... I think Canes in France.

That man called Ronaldinho.. that is not his name. Kaka, that is noth is first name he changed. They all change their names to gain the attitude. I am sorry Branding is serious business on earth. A name is everything. Even in politics and the arts and even in modeling. Even priess who want to become Bishop have serious names.

I have done some research. Now imagine Mr. Johnstone Kamau Ngegi.. that sounds like a farmer in Gatundu. Wait a minute what about Jomo Kenyatta? Yes that sounds like a leader, a Panafricanist.

Hahahahahahah Mtumishi,

I do not know your sportsmanship, but suppose by a deed poll,if Drogba changed his name to MACHERA,will he fail to score simply because Mr.Machera wont touch a ball that is being rained on!

South Africa had a good and world class coach, how far did they go!

Ghana went as far as they went, where Gyan lost a penalt like one time football machician Roberto Baggio.

How will the name surely empower scoring skills!

MACHERA.

Yes we need to change the team name: Lions of the Mara.. You can not win if you are some stars in the high heavens with a name (Harambee) that is not immediately inspiring. By the way, Harambees are done by and for weak people, the poor. So I want our national team called The Lions of the Mara. Or some other potent, lethal name.
Players should also be called serious names. Now if your name is mulandi, John otieno, John Waweru; How can you score goals.. We want something like AMr Zaki, Zidan, Drogba, Kaka, .. something like Jogoo, Zangii.. Yes we need this changes also.

Nyongesa,

The name Nyangau,Cobra,Tembo,Likondi,Arsenal,Man U/C,Mfurilla Wonderous,Nkana Red Devils,Shabana,Bata Bullets OR ANY DREADFUL NAME wont score goals.

I therefore cling on Likondis back in overthrowing the footbal administration in favour of former footballers i.e. JJ Masiga,Mohammed Abbas,Dr.Obwaka,Motego or the likes who not only have the foot ball acumen, but good administrative skills.

HOW ABOU GOING TO SECONDARY SCHOOLS AND SHOP TALENT AS WELL DO SPORTS ACADEMIES FOR TRAINING!

My thoughts,how about others!

Evans MACHERA.

We need to change the football administration completely. When Twahiri says that you "know we traveled late and the humidity was bad". Is that an excuse? Why didn't he take the team there on Monday, why wait till  late. Why did he not take the team to Mombasa to practice there? Same old cats will surely take their milk in comfort and not in a hurry.

Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Kaaaaaaaaaaaaaabbbbbbbbiiiiissssssssssaaaaa.

I think we are performing dismaly because we are carrying a wrong name. Lets come up with a name that is worthy of scaring opponents before we even meet them. A good name like Halleluyah squad. Of course I know its not names that play, neither am I superstitious.
