I want to beg to disagree with you on this. There aren't adequate shovels in this country to do all the trenches, you would have to import and purchase. When earth movers are used for digging trenches, besides those doing final clearance, only three people would directly benefit: the driver, the owner and the pump attendant. If you do your costing well, you will find it cheaper to have the youth do it with shovels and wheelbarrows, besides creating employment. Using approved efficient human hand tools can not be compared with spoons and folks. While their is need to balance technology with other needs, the effects of having unemployed youths is more grievous.

By the way, which machines were used to construct the great wall of China and Egyptian pyramids? There must be correlation between physical activity, brain activity and dormancy. Let our youth work.
