Re: THE PROBLEM WITH K'OGALO FANS

Paul,

I enjoyed the Sofapaka- Gor clash and i want to believe Gor were outplayed though it ended up in a draw. The sofapaka looked seasoned and their game seemed to have improved appreciably, perhaps courtesy of the continental matches. However, Gor has done tremendously this leg of the season, are currently second, and remain a team to beat for the league title this season. Given their current performance record, you may need to review your point 5.

As for Gor fans, numbers or otherwise, i think it is more of a tradition. With much less of violence and noise, they make football world over what it is- the most popular game. We should cheer them on if our goal is improving this great sport in the country.

This has been a season to remember as far as our local league is concerned and I see our KPL getting even better moving foward

However I have noticed something about Gor Fans:

1. They dont care to learn anything about their opponents, hence they live in a blisfull eutopian world where Gor is god, and when they are surprised by an opponent they had written off, all blame is put on the referee

2. Gor fans assume that other teams do not have fans. At nyayo stadium yesterday at the Gor - Sofapaka match, I overheard some Gor fans gloating about the big crowd of Gor supporters had turned up for the match. I had actually gone to watch the match with seven friends and sad to say none was a Gor fan, infact the crowd was made up largely of local soccer fans who support a whole aaray of local teams

3. They expect a customary gift (penalty) from the referee at every match

4. They are the most passionate fans in the country hands down and their descipline has vastly improve

5. They will be thoroughly disappointed come end of the season when they end up with nought!

Regards
