I must admit that Henry has made a very good observation ! I do believe the best is for us to come up with ways that others may emulate to move these countries, especially our country Kenya forward or ahead.
I have had a very serious discussions with both Young and Old about the New Kenya Consitution before the VOTE and tried to convince them of what we need at expect. I found myself a Community Organizer before I knew it and it was a rather difficult but an admirable Job and task to behold, if one is diligent.
I found that inspiring and I would wish and ecourage all, like Henry has articulaed to be involved at every and any level. May God bless Africa !

I am saddened that African countries in particular the Sub-saharan Africa (SSA) still have along way to go in so far as achieving sustainable development is concerned. With limited value addition to their natural resources-economies erected on shaky foundations-predominantly agricultural with limited efforts at improving their innovation systems With same crop of politicians,same useless tribal /ethinic cacoons, same ill trained, equipped and corrupt police force, rot in the church, A vast majority (55% +) of the African population in deep poverty and under educated, under developed physical infrastructure, limited investiment in science and technology, Limited efforts at reforming the education/training sector and related pedagogy, bloated and inefficient govt and citenzry that's unreasonably submissive-Real change is many more decades a way.
Kenyans overwelmingly voted for and actually "promulgated" the new supreme law-the new constitution-Very good but this must be bolstered by both pragmatic and programmatic measures that help to civilise masses, train & educate masses ESPECIALLY in techinical fields , root corruption from public life, detribalise the citenzry, engender merit and hard work,build knowledge systems that aid integration in global economy, redesign rural economies-revamp agriculture, road infrastructure and energy related development, create training enterprises in modern science and technology, truly democratize and liberalize the political establishment and governance-It's through such concrete set of actions that the essence of new constitutional order will be felt.
We agree that all these will come with implementation of the new order---But Kenyans must, must create platforms that will ensure speedy realisation of real, genuine reforms that will have a dent on poverty, on corruption, human right abuses, equity in distribution of national resources, modern infrastructure development-----these are challenges that must not be left to politicians alone.
Forums like these can play a better role .
