Recently a relative was involved in a road mishap and was admitted to Tenwek Mission Hospital , Kericho -a hitherto highly regarded mission hospital, with broken limbs .An emergency leg(s) operation was essential. A Doctor (he introduced himself thus) with a policeman like physique and mannerisms had some questions for him before the operation. "kuna dawa ambayo hikupendi"(are you allergic to some medicines),"Una meno bandia"(do you have dentures?),"tuanzie kuchinja wapi?"(Which leg do you feel we can start operating on?) He declined to sign up for the operation and requested to be transferred to another hospital in spite of his dire form.
