Kenya experienced an aborted genocide after the disputed 2007 elections that pitied Raila Odinga and President Kibaki. Its believed that the elections were stolen and the President was sworn in the dark hours at the lawns of state house. Raila Odinga forced his way hence the creation of the post of the Prime Minister, a position that never existed in our constitution during that time. Its therefore apparent that the two leaders were mere impositions and they are both ruling Kenya illegal as none of them got a direct mandate from Kenyans to be the President and Prime Minister respectively. Those who schemed the theft are still in power and some of then are seeking to run for Presidency in 2012. These leaders' visas were withdrawn, their families deported to Kenya as they mulled over positions in government.
One thing is that Kenyans do not need these characters to resurface again in 2012 and that is ICC action against the financiers and excutors of violence should be something all Kenyans will look into before the end of the year. The wars of words of both PNU and ODM should be ignored and Ocampo need to release secret warrant of arrest of these people. And if not then he nees to publicy release the names so that they can be socially ostracised from our community.
Kenya was a typical genocide that led to atleast 1,100 people dead and over 300000 displaced. The ICC is using Kenya as a case example to try the financier and perpetrators of the election violence. The government has moved in to confuse the situation which has now turned to be a witch hunt of Kikuyu MPs as per a section of PNU leaders. The constitution was hurriendly passed to give the government room to say that Kenya is now capable to try the PPEV. Remarks by Mutula Kilonzo and his counterparts should not be tolerated. And justcie must be done. Denying that there was no genocide should also be criminalized to stop politicians commenting on it either in public or private engagements. In Rwanda, its criminal to deny that there was genocide. The same case should apply to the Kenyan situation to stop any discussion on the genocide that happened. The government's full cooperation with ICC is necessary and a must for peace to prevail.
It is therefore necessary the government of Kenya to criminalize genocide denials!
