I would chip into this debate. The man Akuku danger is my brother-in-law and I would be glad if you appologise for saying that he deserved death. This is not acceptable because Akuku never forced any woman on him. They adored him.
To make such wrong and malicious judgements, is unkind of pronouncements. His first wife Dina Anyango Otulo (late Dina Anyango Akuku) whom he married in Got Mikumu Kasrime Kosoko is my grandfather's first daughter. My grand father was called Ephantus Otulo Owaga whom am named by his mother with a clan name called (Nyambogo)
Dina was my Aunt and was blessed with two sons (the late Dande Akuku) and Peterson Akuku who is a professional teacher (Headmaster). Dande was his eldest son and a prominent businessman and a farmer in Kanyamua Mirogi.
Sometimes we offend others not knowingly, the late Akuku Danger gave my dad cows numbering 10 in the early 50s and told him to look after them and become rich. These were not dowry. My Aunt Dina was from my first grand mother called Awuoche Nyowaka Otulo. My grandfather fist wife. The dowry was paid to my elder uncle called Ezra Banja Otulo being who was the first son of my grand father (Akuku paid 20 cows)
The late Akuku's other 4 wives were all from my village Kowaga and Esther Opiyo, who was Dina's younger sister was also married to Akuku and given decent home in Marinde trading and business center. There is no home the late Akuku got married to and did not uplift particularly in educating the children.
The back ground of Akuku is speaking for itself, I am one of the benefiaciries of the late Akuku's fierceness towards education. Despite my real grandmother coming from a well off family of Oongo Nyangwecha and Olangs whose sons were the first Majors in the Army and Navy, they never asisted my grandmother to educate my father when his father (Otulo Owaga) died.
Marrying duirng those days was a pride, and we may now be condeming it. But in the late Akukus' home, you will get all professionals name them. His main problem was Education and if any child was playing with Education, you had to expect fire from him whether you were a relative to him or not.
The two schools Kogore and Aorachuodho has produced many professionals from both Kwabwali and Karungu Locations, it is a testimony to someone who was little educated but saw the importance of eduction. He was doing this because of the late doyen of politics, the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga and Tomb Mboya who were frequent visitors to him and however one was educated, if you needed anything to do with your career, people used to consult him for advise. He was proud of it and said, young men see what somo maber en (Meaning you young men, can't you see what better education is all about) referring to his visitors.
Akuku Danger's homes are one of the best organised homes in polygamist families and has produced what it takes to be educated. The issue of a 35 year old wife should not bother you. It is not like in other communities where when a husband dies, that is the end of everything. Who says a 35 years old woman is young, how do we count by the way? Let us have some sense of humility it is not just contributing because you come from a different community. You can not compare Akuku and the Kirimas as the statement is leading towards that direction.
That child will be educated, dont compare our culture with your communities, I am educating my younger brother's daughter whose father died in the year 1998 and I dont feel anything bad in doing it as it is a family responsiblility and I feel proud doing it.
It is regretable to use such words, me as a member if that community feel so suddened with such words. We dont condemn dead people unless one is pretending to be christian but in a hidden sheep's skin.
Sorry to tell you this. But I feel extremely offended by your words in this forum for a departed soul.

Subject: Curtain falls on Kenya's most prominent polygamis
| | When men marry so many wives, do they think of what will happen to the children of the youngest wife. My God a 93 year old man with a wife 35 years old and a small baby is dead. Who will take care of this child? Bure kabisa. He deserved death before he marries 19 year old and destroy her life. Sorry for that.
