I have finally come to understand why Muslims, by and large, appear to be the most committed of religious folks. Why they abide by the Muslim principles almost to the latter. I have come to understand why they do what they do, why they pray 5 times a day, why they must visit Mecca once in their lifetimes. Why they wear those ugly beards, and why they observe prayers and the men wear white dresses on Fridays. I understand why they marry 4 wives. Why there is Jihad is now clear.
One reason guides this behavior. Fear. Period. Fear of the afterlife. Not even the fear of hell. Folks, the afterlife of Muslims is shrouded in a lot of religious dogma that would make anyone comply with the Quran teachings. Infact, if what they say is true, am scared. Its is simply scary. Its crazy. Horror!!!
Anyway let me break it down.
When a Muslim dies, according to the Quran, what follows all depends on how happy God (Allah) will be with the life that the deceased led, while on earth. If you were a committed Muslim, good for you. Watch this!! Immediately after one dies, it is said that Angel Gabriel descends from heaven accompanied by 3 angels. If you were upright, the angels are said to be bright looking - in white gowns. They come for your soul. And if you were Harry, the angels that descend are said to be dark according to the Quran. And not generally happy. Angel Gabriel is the angel of death.
If you were Harry, your soul becomes scared. Your soul, if you were a sinner, refuses to detach away from your body when angel Gabriel descends, and what he does is pull it away from your body by force. Such is the experience just after death. Your soul, at this stage awaits the wrath of God. To burn in everlasting fire.
Now who would not be scared of such outlandish dogmas? Such a story would generate fear for a 5 year old. It sounds so horror like. But you should see how Muslim leaders preach these dogmas to the Muslims. If you believe in them, then you are doomed. And it would take a very inquisitive Muslim to ask whether they really apply. I tell my Muslim friends, stop living in fear of those stories in the Quran. Rise up and be liberal in thought.
Folks, religion is not supposed to be based on fear...............and that is what the Muslim faith seems to be riding on, to win faithfuls.
