Re: *** Christianity Destroying Art and Music and Culture !!!

Harry.
You have refused to respond to my two rebuttals I posted in response to your two poorly presented postings on Christianity. I hereby today again find you goofing as usual. I asked you to do a simple research before you go to your comp to talk about what you do not know. Since when did Christianity destroy your culture? What culture are talking about? What music are you talking about?

There is nothing called secular and non-secular. The Christianity you are talking about is what exists in your village and not what we Christians know. Music was not invented by man, man just found music in existence. For your information, Lucifer was a musician and was in charge of music in heaven before he rebelled and cast out of heaven. Music is good but it depends who you are glorifying in that music. Christianity is not against any cultural music. Franco, Mbaraka Mwinshehe, Peter Wilson Kinyonga of Simba Wanyika sung about God Halleluya etc. Christianity is not against music.

I know you never do any reading, but just for this one, get to the biography of Anthon Szandor Lavey the founder of the church of Satan and see what was he before he started that Church of Satan.http://www.whale.to/b/lavey_q.html

You can also look at this  from Wikipedia I cut and paste here so that you read it for yourself and see why Christians have to make choices when it comes to music; He was a Musician, do you think it is a coincidence that Satan was a musician and the guy who starts the first group that official worships SATAN was a musician?

His parents supported his musical development as he tried various instruments, his favorite being keyboards such as the pipe organ and the calliope.

LaVey's biography tells of his dropping out of Globe High School in his junior year to join a circus and carnivals, first as a roustabout and cage boy in an act with the big cats, later as a musician playing the calliope. LaVey later noted that seeing many of the same men attending both the bawdy Saturday night shows and the tent revival meetings on Sunday mornings reinforced his increasingly cynical view of religion. He later had stints as an organist in bars, lounges, and nightclubs. While playing organ in Los Angeles burlesque houses, he reportedly had a brief affair with the then-unknown Marilyn Monroe as she was dancing at the Mayan Theater. This claim has been challenged by those who knew Monroe at the time, as well as the manager of the Mayan, Paul Valentine, who stated that she had never been one of his dancers, nor had the theater ever been used as a burlesque house or for "bump and grind" shows.[4]

hope to hear from you
Paul

G******** F****s,
Do you remember this?
There was once upon a time folks, when we had a clear, religious line between a well dressed lady, the well mannered one, the one in a long skirt, modest blouse, never did make-up, she was Godly, even simple, and on the other hand we had the other one, according to preachers then, who was dressed to attract the devil himself. The one in a mini-skirt, tight trousers, big earing, sprays etc. Dressing was a big deal then. I guess about 10 years ago. Preachers would insist on how to be a modestly dressed girl. It used to be assumed then that God himself liked modestly dressed women. If you went to church, you would never buy a mini-skirt, lest you be labelled a back-slider!! (By the way i will talk about back-sliding soon!!!) Do you remember such a time? Our parents used to take us to church to learn some of these dress codes, and how to be modest and Godly.

There was a time, friends, when Christian Music was the kind of slow, cool music whose only theme should have been praising Jesus and worshiping God. The dancing was very polite, not vigorous. Even if it was vigorous, it was not secular. Then i had friends, saved of course, who used to tell me the crap of "I only listen to Christian Music in my house". That time, listening to Michael Jackson, Shabba Ranks, Aaliyah, and even Franco was considered ungodly by these confused folks. Do you remember such crap? Can you relate to it?

But i have come to realize something. In time. Christianity has slowly tried to destroy Art, Culture and Music. Today i want to tell you, that there is nothing wrong with Secular Music, absolutely nothing wrong with it. We should cherish Nonini, Jua-Cali, MJ, U2. Forget about what Christians say!! They want to coerce you to think that secular music is Satatic!! Why the hell should we even classify music? Music was invented my man, has existed with us over many years, and it matters less which music you love. I guess it matters less to God even. If you love dressing well, if you love looking gorgeous in those mini-skirts, doing your make-up, wearing those high heels, its not un-Christian. In fact, so what if it is goddammit!!! Go out, be yourself.

It is my take that Christianity was modeled along the traditional concept and philosophy that to be Godly, and to be saved, one has to be simple and modest. And you could not listen to any other music other than the soothing Christian songs.

This is bull****.

Lets invent, cherish and appreciate the diversity of our culture, music and art.

Damn!!
