Ndugu Okiya,

Your list of invited dignitaries is skewed and unfair. How come you (or your team) didn't invite Hom MPs for Coast region (Chagamwe & Likoni constituencies) and  Kisumu region (Kisumu Rural & Ugenya constituencies) while you've notable invited those from Starehe and Makadara contingencies or did they decline invitations?

Kenya conducted in the Coast region (Chagamwe & Likoni constituencies), Kisumu region (Kisumu Rural & Ugenya constituencies), and Nairobi region (Starehe & Makadara constituencies) by Kenya Public Funds Monitoring Network

Launch Theme: "Do they work for us? Grassroots voices on devolved funds in Kenya"

Origins of KEPUFMNET monitoring initiative

In November of 2008 the African Monitor made scoping visits to Mombasa, Kisumu, Ugunja and Nairobi and held discussions with stakeholders on the state of social accountability in Kenya. This was part of Africa-wide scoping visits to engage stakeholders on social accountability. The purpose of the Kenya scoping visits were:

(i) To identify and discuss on the key development issues (of community's  choice) for monitoring in the communities;

(ii) To explore and identify community platforms and structures that can be used for monitoring;

(iii) To raise awareness on monitoring among the community champions as well as communities at large; 

(iv) To explore what communities require for successful monitoring.

Invited Dignitaries: Rt. Rev. Wabukhala; His Grace John Cardinal Njue; Rev. Peter Karanja, Hon. Bishop Margaret Wanjiru MP Starehe; Hon. Mike Sonko MP Makadara; Prof. PLO Lumumba, KACC Director; Ms. Priscilla Nyokabi, and Director Kituo cha Sheria. There will be participants from Coast and Nyanza including Civic leaders 

Convener:

Kenya Public Funds Monitoring Network in conjunction with the African Monitor (Cape Town, South Africa, based pan African continental organization that works with partners throughout Africa on how development commitments (aid and national budgets) are impacting on the grassroots communities).
