Dear Muslims,
Greetings especially as you approach the end of Ramadan.
I have had the curiosity to discover that there is a day during the last 10 days of Ramadhan, indeed one of the nights, when angels come from heaven to greet and bless Muslims who are praying and worshipping. This day is describe as Laylat-al-Qadr.
Laylat-al-Qadr is a blessed night of power in Islam. It normally comes on a peaceful and serene evening according to the hadith Prophet Mohammad. It's said that it will be a night of peace; a night when it is neither cold nor hot; a night when a Muslim's heart will be at peace.
Laylat-al-Qadr falls in the last ten days of Ramadan; it usually falls on an odd day, such as the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th of the month. Muslims search for Layalat-al-Qadr during the last ten days of Ramadan; during this period, they are prepared for Allah's blessings.
It's believed that the Angel Gabriel descends with 70,000 angels to shake the hands of the worshiping Muslims.
According to Islamic belief, the word of peace may be said by Angel Gabriel to Allah's servants on that most blessed and sacred night.
My question is, considering scientific proof that we have places on Earth which experience four continuous months of daytime, given that the earth has tilted at and angle of 66 1/2 degrees, isn't this yet another myth? Another dogma? Surely this should have been put into consideration. Lets put into context the act of 70,000 angels descending and shaking hands with worshiping Muslims. You have to be extremely dogmatic to believe in this assertion. I know that at any one time there could be millions of muslims worshipping at a time, and the figure 70000 does not add up. Unless they shake hands in such a miraculous way.
The very act of angels descending gives room to the idea that heaven is somewhere up in the blue skies as we know it. But we know that the sky is not really a sky, but rather the atmosphere leading to space.Folks, pardon me, but amongst the very many dogmas i have come across, i find this particular one to be obnoxious.
