Re: Gitari, Njoya invite 'No' clerics to debate on 'truth' &calling on Elijah Kombo into Action

Maurice, why did we reject it in 2005 if it had started 20 yrs ago? if it had to seriously pass, that should have happened in 2005.

Reuben,

You're advancing a false argument.

All through the 80s and 90s during Moi's dictatorial rule, no one talked about abortion or all of those issues you're mentioning. When Matiba was detained, no one talked about abortion or any of those issues you're mentioning.

Let's be real for once.

The analogy in the case of the pck IS NOT FAULTY SIGNAL LIGHTS. It is worse than that because it touches on several fundamental provisions.

We are licensing the killing of the unborn in the name of freedom to choose. We are entrenching ethnicity in the name of land rights. We are entrenching inequality in the name of "minority/merginalized rights."

The analogy is more like a screw that was not tightened on that space ship in America called The Challenger. Failure to  tighten that screw made the Challenger come down.

Please take this seriously.

Let us amend first, otherwise, vote NO..

Reuben Kigame.

Jonah,

Using your reasoning that we should can this PC and fix it first before we move on is akin to arguing that if I am driving my car at night in the middle of Tsavo and I notice that one of the turn signal lights and let's say a speedometer are malfunctioning, then I should just stop the car and stay there overnight until help arrives in the morning instead of continuing with my journey cautiously until I reach a safe place where I hope I can find a car mechanic.

I am sorry Kenyans are not stopping in the middle of the night in Tsavo because of a malfunctioning turn signal light and a speedometer. Kenyans have resolved to drive cautiously to a safe place first and then have the car repaired in the morning.

I urge you to embrace this same wisdom. Tsavo is a dangerous place to be in at night and alone.

The answer for your safety is a simple YES.

Courage,
Maurice

Going through your article I canm conculde that you must have recently attended a Change Management workshop. That is why you can say that the NO team have fear change. BUT the reality is that the YES team have a phobia of being told the reality, that this draft is leaking and needs fixing first before people can settle with it. They just want to be told 'it is good'. The NO team says 'there is a problem here, let us fix it first and pass it.

Dear Sungu and all Comrades,

I hope we are NOT just talking among ourselves on this net. Is someone proactively reaching out the NO clergy group? We need to hear from them directly or via their appointed spokespersons. Is this something that RED Card centre can help to organise? They are great in organising and profiling "nothing" into "something". This they can surely do.

To my name sake Elijah Kombo, let's me assure you that we are not idling in the Green corner as implied in one of your emails. No we are working at all levels through people driven and led networks and other networks. We are certainly not only thinking beyond the Referendum but we are actually working and laying firm ground to actualise the demands of the new constitutional dispensation.  Unlike Kombo and most of lieutenants in the Red Camp, we have been active in the generation background stuff on Land and Rights chapters over the last 10 or so years! I never saw you in any of the working committees on Land for example. Where were you when launched the Basin Needs- Basin Rights Campaign many years ago. Chapter 4 on The Bill of Rights is NOT foreign as peddled by anti-reformist in the RED Camp; it is informed and built from all this sound past work and foundation. It is no wonder you and your team are having problems in comprehending the logic, purpose and rationale of the land and Environment and Bill of Rights chapters among others! Come let's reason together and move on. Change!

In terms of moving and preparing beyond Referendum, let me inform. Kombo that we are on course. As part of a think tank team working with Land Reform Transformation Unit, we shall be having a national Forum on Land Reform In Kenya tomorrow- 28th August, 2010 at School of Monetary Studies. It will be attended by members of cabinet, MPs, senior Government officers, Foreign Missions, religious leaders, civil society, NGOs and media. Kombo see the attached invitation card and be my guest at the Forum.

My name sake Kombo we are not stuck in past or present. No we are sick of this past and that is why we are very much future and solution orientated. We have done our home work and yes we need to liberate ourselves and the other Kenyans from this "Fear of change and NO Change mentality of the Red Camp"

For the rest of Kenyan of good willing and those who believe in change and action, let's continue with struggle of mobilising for change of status quo. Let's go completely Green since we know why and where we are going.

Yes I am in Green for a purpose

Regards

Elijah Agevi

Happy in the Green Corner

Oduor,

The debate is clergy versus clergy. That is the one we want so we can know who the false prophets in the church are.

Njoya and Gitari are for YES, NO have refused to come on board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's allow Reuben to debate. His contributions and opinions will allow us to judge his weight on these urgent matters.
