| I can only hope that the signers of that statement are real this time. There is no such thing as "reckless devolution". I have read the document and its tone and spirit even in a general sense are very progressive, inclusive and promote the rule of law. President Obama supports passage of a new constitution, and he sent his VP to say as much. The United States has helped us many times in the past and wants to continue to have trading and bilateral partners with whom it shares values and ideals. That the U.S ambassador is a messenger for his boss and supports a process that our Govt and many Kenyans believe in is not a wrong. Ranneberger even tho I may not like him much or his style personally has NOT crossed the line. Kenyans vigorously resist theatrics, diversionary tactics, double speak and outright lies from the NO team. The person who is crossing the line is Moi who had a chance to promote the rule of law and integration for a quarter century and didnt. He is now criss crossing campaiging like a first time MP or Councillor! The motives of the NO camp are known by many. All you have to do is look at the team line up. Hiding under the banner of "we are Kenyans also and have a right to be heard." Pay no attention people, to false and zero sum arguments from naysayers and doom predictors. This is a good document and Kibaki will have scored a win, 8 years late (in line with his 100 days promise) but a win nontheless. And I think the President is personally focussed on this for his legacy and reputation which explains his uncharacterstic assertiveness lately and firmness on the matter. Vote YES, and move Kenya forward. As we enter the tail end of the campaign, the lines are clearly drawn and we will no longer pay any attention to court jesters, comedians, jugglers, tricksters, naysayers and attention seekers.
