hi all.

i for one am new inthis group. i don't even know how i was subscribed in, have been trying to unsubscribe but i keep getting ur mails. i give up after all it might not be such a bad idea. 

 reading responses to this debate makes me wonder whether am living in my own world. I keep to wonder whether all of you take time to understand a few facts of life. The basic things that one learns when they start forming their own principles.

who is God? where did he come from? what is relegion? why do i have to beleive without questioning? what will happen when i die? where did existence of life come from and when?

  A little along the way you come to realize that none of these questions have fulfilling answers. Everything seems to revolve around one possible conclusion..Beyond all there are powers Beyond human control that dictate nature, its origin and possible its destination. one nature of human beings is the possession of a more developed brain that in simpler terms  make  Man intelligent. Man can reason about and interpreate his findings in his own way based on speculations or facts.

    Its onthe basis of those interpretations that i contribute to this long lived debate. Relegion is much more than just Christianity, muslim or budhism e.t.c.

it is it is the basis of human morality.it is a believe that certain principles are 'Right' or 'Wrong' based on past deeds by our ancestors or communication from spiritual supreme beings..but which ever the case the preceedings to the conclusions on whether A or B is right or wrong is an origin which we lack complete evidence. we base history as our only source.

lemmie continue to point out that the sources of our believes based on our the history of our people is what makes different religions,but the principles in what we believe in are basically the same. Killing is wrong, stealing is sin, adultery is a sin...e.t.c whether Jesus said it or mohamed said it or the Greek Goddess of the sea said it.. they all make sense. those principles are what make us human. they make us live together regardless of our different Origins. 

  It would be worthless to urgue that there is no such a thing as God or Jesus,, but what i call My God and My Jesus is a totally different thing.whether My God Promises eternal life or Not is equally irrelevant, What is of importance is We should be proud of what we believe in Coz that is what makes us who we are and what defines the kind of life we will live and the sort of generations we will leave behind as we exit.

  even inthe bible, God gave man the gift of free will. chose what you think is right coz the choice you make will determine you tommorrow.

Replying to you most times is so hard, coz I wonder weather you make your statements / questions so as to learn, criticize, irritate some people, make some people turn from their faith…. I have never known. I am not sure if anyone has ever forced you to be a Christian, but I pray someday you become one. Jesus Himself (I believe you know this from your research) wasn't a rich person (materially), so a Christian's wealth isn't measured materially. A Christian's blessings are more within than outside. You are not one, so its hard for you to understand the peace, joy, love… that one has when they are born again; its hard to explain to you Harry.

Pls don't expect Christians to have some marks of "special life" according to you; their lives are in God's Hands. They suffer pain, lack fees, sleep hungry, fall sick,… everything, but God never leaves them alone, and always comes to their rescue. Our faith has to be tested to be trusted; we have to go through valleys and on mountains, but there is always rest for our souls. At the end of it all, Eternal Life together with Our father in heaven! Like I said, I cant explain to you this feeling. You see like the way you feel in your heart when you see your lovely son, and someone else who doesn't have one feels…. That's the feeling; only you understand and can explain.

This is to the Christian Republic,

It has become increasingly clear to me, over the years, that the message of Jesus Christ, the Gospel of Christ, the teachings of Jesus Christ as the savior of humanity, the teachings that you need him in your life has no basis. I have examined this life folks, over the few years i have lived and there is nothing fundamental can be attributed to someone accepting Jesus as his personal savior.

 

Let us begin by generally accepting some fundamentals about this life. It is full of challenges. Problems even. Some are within you control and some are outside your control. Some are both. Sickness, for example can be within or outside your control. A road accident may be outside your control. A divorce could be both. Getting a job could be out of your control, or within .... 

 

Lets also accept that everyone can get what he wants in life....everyone can be successful, a failure, in all spheres of life, and this could also be within his control or outside his control. 

 

The message of accepting Jesus has always bordered on the fact that by doing so, you improve your lifestyle, you generally become a better person, you relate to others well, you become generous, forgiving, loving, caring, you treat your wife and husband better, just like Jesus taught. By accepting Jesus into your life, eventually your life will be better and better. You will fall sick less, and if you do you will heal faster. And because you pray and fast often, misfortunes will not come your way as much as they do for the heathens.

 

But is this true?

 

The lives of people who accept Jesus are no better than the lives of the other human beings. Not on this earth at least. The problem is that when you accept Jesus, you start imagining your life is being managed by someone else and so you attribute everything to him. This is the worst DOGMA  of ALL TIME. I have seen the so called Children of God getting just as messed up as the rest of the flock. When it comes to happiness, the only parameter for happiness is not Jesus. I have seen very unhappy Christians, saved ones, jobless ones, sick ones, and very prayerful ones. I have also seen very happy atheists. Healthy ones. Wealthy ones. With happy marriages. And very generous, very accommodating. Very reasonable. And they live by the generally acceptable principles of life like honesty, kindness, integrity, hard work etc.

 

You do not need Jesus, just live well, appreciate nature, be kind and honest, and take everything in stride. ALL SHALL BE WELL Goddammit!!
