That would not be prudent or even necessary. Raila is well know to represent Kibera for years unlike Obama's situation regarding the pastor's case which surfaced at an advanced stage of Obama presidential campaign. Secondly, President Obama has been very proud of his roots and especially the Kenyan connection. This helped generate a lot of interest in him and his presidential candidature; looking at his speeches, rallies in and outside the US and even his books esp., 'A Dream From My Father'. On the other hand; Raila has to be what he is his and not what he is not, he has to be authentic and genuine has he has been. Raila is well know in and outside Kenya for what he is, so far he has done remarkable well by all accounts. History will judge Raila very favourable looking at his numerous contributions to Kenyan freedoms including the new constitutional order. To simply try to throw all that away by rejecting the very people who gave him the platform and even the willingness of self-sacrifice so has to be the president of Kenya in 2012 would be foolhardy, political suicide, an act of treachery and betrayal to say the least.
